the gayest
wedding ever

A love so good, they got married thrice.

from a hand-fasting ceremony featuring a cord made from their matriarchs’ wedding dresses to a bespoke DJ set that solidified their celebration as “the gayest wedding ever,” every detail from Nick Del Prince and Nick D'Annunzio’s wedding, the second of three wedding celebrations, told their story (which began with a “you up?” message on scruff).

Thanks to Borgo petrognano’s sweeping Tuscan views and the couple’s commitment to elevated dinner party vibes, the week-long celebration, complete with a welcome gathering, pizza night, and pasta-making class, achieved that rare balances of raw, real, and pure party—and was a joyous testament to queer love, heritage, and chosen family.

“Borgo Petrognano was a family-run Olive farm, and the unique history of family and community paired with its unparalleled views made it the perfect place to celebrate our marriage.”

The Venue

When planning their destination wedding, the nicks always knew that the guest experience and hospitality (which involved homemade pizza upon everyone’s arrival) would take center stage. “We love to host. We wanted to take our intimate Brooklyn family dinners, something we’ve shared with everyone in attendance at our wedding, and just make them bigger and more fabulous. as I said to Nick when I proposed, ‘let’s up the ante.’”

“Our families spent a full week together at this                 villa and made memories that we will cherish                           .”

“Playing into our italian heritage, we wanted to drink, eat, and celebrate the family we are lucky enough to call ours,” the couple said of their wedding weekend, which kicked off—officially—with an aperitivo and family-style meal on the eve of their nuptials.

“There was a life changing pesto pomodoro orecchiette that had our guests begging for more.”

The Wedding

“Our first look was incredibly special—and felt the most ‘us.’ It really framed what the day is all about–: committing to a lifetime of family, love, resilience, and joy with your partner.”

“We’ve been green and pink coded forever. Kermit & Miss Piggy, Glinda & Elphaba, You name it. When choosing our looks it was important to honor our younger selves who frankly never dreamed that a day like this would come.”

A string quartet serenaded the group during the Pre-ceremony aperitivo and processional—and since nick DP has two music degrees, intentional arrangements were a must. Kate Bush, Chappell Roan, and the “Rainbow Connection” were mixed with Fauré, Delibes, Bizet, and more.

“while we love florals, we wanted everyone to feel the beauty of the moment,” say the nicks of their simple ceremony underneath a canopy of fruited grape vines. They opted for single cabbage roses on all seats and let property’s backdrop—the rolling tuscan hills—do the rest of the work.

“We          a runway, so we gave everyone a full house-down-boots-runway mama tongue-pop mid-ceremony.”

D. “we wanted our dinner and the decor to feel as much like a family meal as possible; a singular table, beautiful ‘in-season’ produce and florals, good wine, and spectacular food.”

“I loved getting to sneak away for 5 minutes and just take photos with my husband. It was the one point in the day when things quieted down and we were truly able to sit in the moment.”

“We wrapped the night with a millefoglie cake– a traditional italian wedding cake that we dressed and served to our guests.”

It’s the “Simple things,” say the nicks, that stand out as true wedding highlights. “getting haircuts with our neighbor and best friend Bruna was so emotional and significant,” they share. “sitting down to dinner and realizing all of the people we loved most in the world were gathered in this place together—magical.”

Testimonial

"We knew our rehearsal dinner would be memorable. We did not anticipate a mid-event bee sting subplot. Enter: golden hour. The light is doing its smug, cinematic thing. Everyone looks hot. Emotions are high. And then—Nikki gets stung by a bee. A real one. Fully operational. Zero warning. There was a brief, collective internal panic. Is she okay? Is this serious? Are we about to pivot from champagne to urgent care? And here’s where you understand exactly who Nikki is.

Nikki handled it like an absolute pro. Calm. Assessed the situation. No theatrics. No spiral. Just “Okay, give me a second.” She stepped away, regrouped, changed, and was back in action in what felt like record time—like a slightly more glam superhero origin story. She didn’t miss. a. beat. Not a single lapse. Not a single “On no, we didn’t get that.” She seamlessly covered everything—angles, candids, moments—so smoothly that if you didn’t know there had been a bee incident, you would have never guessed. Somehow, some of our favorite photos of the entire weekend were taken after the sting. Adrenaline? Talent? Both?

It would have been completely understandable for Nikki to call it. It would have been easy for the energy to shift. It didn’t. Because she didn’t let it. She made it feel light. She made us feel taken care of. They protected the vibe and the moments at the same time—which, frankly, is a rare skill. If Nikki can handle a rogue bee at golden hour and still deliver magic, she can handle anything your wedding throws at them."

"10/10. Would absolutely hire again. Bees and all."
